The Camargue - a place like no other
The Camargue is a very special place, utterly different from anywhere else in Provence, France, or anywhere else for that matter.

Unsurprisingly the landscape is very flat. Around the many pools and lakes you'll find flamingos and egrets aplenty. We took a horseback ride while we were there, which is a nice way to feel a little closer to the place. There are a few places dotted along the main road to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer hiring horses (including for complete novices like myself).

Remember to douse yourself in mosquito repellant, and think twice before getting out of your car at dusk. This is mozzy paradise!
