St. Tropez
St. Tropez was famously the setting for the Brigitte Bardot film "Et Dieu Crea la Femme". I'm sure it's been the setting for loads of other films - anyone?

Saint-Tropez on the BBC
I spotted Saint-Tropez on the telly the other night. It was a celebrity "reality TV" show with Esther Rantzen and friends trying to learn French in a hurry.

One of the teachers was none other than my old friend Patricia from the Institut Francais in London. Salut Patricia!

PS: If you're in London and trying to learn French, get thee to Institut Francais in South Kensington toute suite. It's an absolutely brilliant set-up, funded by the long-suffering French tax-payers, bless their little gallic hearts. Great bistro, library and videotheque, in a lovely setting, and great teachers of course!

Ryanair flights to Toulon St. Tropez
I see Ryanair are now flying to "Toulon St. Tropez". So which is it, Toulon or Saint Tropez?

Toulon St. Tropez
I'd say, by the abbreviation TLN, that Ryanair is flying to Toulon. Being Ryanair, it would be unthinkable that they call the airport by where it actually is. So instead they name the airport at the mjaor town of Toulon (population: 160,000) after the little village of St. Tropez (population: 6,000).
